Georgia election conspiracy case against Trump and indicted allies dismissed

After nearly five years, the Georgia election fraud case against Donald Trump and his 14 remaining co-defendants was dismissed last week.

The Nov. 26 order by a Fulton County judge came after Peter Skandalakis, executive director of the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia, took over the case following the removal of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis over ethical concerns.

Skandalakis determined that many charges would not withstand free speech protections, that many defendants had done nothing wrong and that some had acted under legal advice. He also cited practical reasons for dismissal, including the likelihood that President Trump could not face prose
