CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Running through Dec. 21, Great Lakes Theater’s production of ”A Christmas Carol” is back at the Mimi Ohio Theater, where it has enchanted Cleveland audiences for nearly 40 years.
Here are three reasons to go.
1. A beloved holiday tradition
In Cleveland, ‘tis the season to see the lights at Public Square, watch “A Christmas Story " on television ( or on stage ) and take the family to see “A Christmas Carol.”
This year marks the 37th staging of GLT’s adaptation, which opened in 1989 and has since welcomed about 870,000 people, many of them more than once. Generations have grown up with it. Kids who first saw the show on a school field trip now bring their own children (and grandchildren) to usher in the season with a warm dose of nostalgia and holiday spirit.
