ANN ARBOR, MI — An Ohio man has been charged in a stabbing near Michigan Stadium at the end of the Michigan-Ohio State game, the final home game of the season.
The 46-year-old is accused of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and assault with a dangerous weapon, confirmed Chris Page, Ann Arbor police spokesperson. It was not immediately clear if the man had been arraigned.
The man is accused of stabbing a 34-year-old Tekonsha man around 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, in the parking lot of Pioneer High School, 601 W. Stadium Blvd. The high school’s parking lot, which is kitty-corner from the stadium, is often used by game attendees and other fans.
The confrontation started as a verbal altercation between the two men and then escalated, Page said.
