ANN ARBOR, MI — Administrative service and staff relocations are underway as the University of Michigan is set to demolish a 52-year-old building in Ann Arbor.
Maintenance of the aging Wolverine Tower, 3003 S. State St., near Eisenhower Parkway, “has become cost-prohibitive,” a Dec. 1 University Record update states .
The building formerly housed university payroll and finance offices, among other units.
UM will retain the property and repurpose it once officials determine its future use. The changes are consistent with UM Campus Plan 2050’s modernization and sustainability goals.
Campus Plan 2050 is the university’s long-term development plans to address mobility, energy, land use and other projects on the Ann Arbor campus during the next quarter century.
