Michigan was rewarded for an incredible week of basketball. The Wolverines moved up four spots to No. 3 in the latest AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll, released Monday.
Michigan (7-0) went 3-0 since the last poll, beating San Diego State on Monday 94-54, then-No. 21 Auburn 102-72 on Tuesday and then-No. 12 Gonzaga 101-61 on Wednesday to capture the Players Era Championship title in Las Vegas. Both Gonzaga and Auburn moved up one spot from last week.
Purdue and Arizona, also both 7-0, held on to the top two spots, respectively. Houston fell from 3 to 8, while Michigan also passed Duke, UConn and Louisville.
The Wolverines were last ranked this high in the March 1, 2021 poll, when they were No. 2. They last reached No. 1 on Jan. 28, 2013.
