ANN ARBOR, MI — Counting every candy cane, gumdrop and critter, Carly Groves estimates there’s about 300 pieces of holiday “flair” outside her family’s home in Ann Arbor.
That includes a giant Santa, reindeer, snow people, bears, penguins, flamingos, unicorns, whales, owls, llamas, squirrels, tigers, pigs, a seahorse, octopus, peacock, donkey, moose, saguaro cacti, Snoopy and Woodstock in a plane, and more.
Known as the Christmas Critter House, the elaborately decorated front yard at 1702 Shadford Road in the Burns Park area has been turning heads, fully decked out for the holiday season.
The family, with some help, started putting up decorations in October and had an opening lighting ceremony Nov. 21, inviting neighbors and serving up hot chocolate.
