An armed robbery that prompted a large police response at the Lunds & Byerlys parking lot along France Avenue in Edina on Sunday was carried about by two boys, ages 16 and 17, according to new information released by police on Monday.
Edina PD says it responded to the reported armed robbery with shots fired around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, with the incident occurring in the parking lot of an apartment building at 7333 Gallagher Drive.
However, police were initially sent to the Lunds & Bylerlys parking lot at 7171 France Avenue, where they found an 18-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his left arm.
The robbery was reported by a 911 caller who referred to the incident as a "Facebook Marketplace deal gone wrong."
