NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WAVE) - As the calendar turned to December, the Indiana House of Representatives has returned to the Statehouse in Indianapolis to meet over redistricting.
The idea of redistricting is part of President Trump’s wish for Republican-led states to draw more GOP-friendly U.S. House districts before the 2026 midterms. Indiana GOP representative Ed Clere of New Albany hasn’t held back since President Trump proposed fast-track redistricting earlier this year.
“First of all, it’s the wrong time to redistrict,” Clere said. “There’s a redistricting process that follows the census every ten years.”
