Wrexham are reportedly set to do battle with Robin van Persie 's Feyenoord in a bid to sign FC Groningen goalkeeper Etienne Vaessen.

The 30-year-old has had a strong start to the season in the Eredivisie and is said to have attracted attention from several overseas clubs, including Mexican side Tigres and Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp. Dutch giants Feyenoord, managed by former Arsenal and Manchester United star Van Persie, are also understood to be monitoring him as a potential option in goal.
