ADAIRVILLE, Ky. – A teen is charged with fleeing police in a vehicle on Saturday.

According to Adairville Police chief Aaron Ashby, at 3:53 p.m. Saturday, he observed a red 2002 Chevy Silverado driving recklessly southbound on U.S. 431.

Ashby says he then conducted a traffic stop near Smiths Grove Road.

Despite multiple requests from Ashby to exit the vehicle, Ashby says the driver refused to comply. With the driver’s door locked, Ashby says he reached into the vehicle to unlock it. The driver then attempted to roll the window up while the police chief’s arm was still inside and put the truck into drive, according to Ashby.

Ashby states the driver fled the scene, speeding recklessly and crossing into Tennessee.
