COLUMBIA, S.C. — Ahead of this year’s Giving Tuesday, South Carolina Secretary of State Mark Hammond is encouraging residents to make informed decisions when supporting charitable organizations.
Hammond is reminding donors to research charities registered to solicit funds in South Carolina using the free Give Smart SC app, available in the App Store and Google Play. The app provides access to a charity’s most recent annual financial report. Donors can also use search tools on the Secretary of State’s website to review charities, raffles and professional fundraisers registered in the state.
