MUSKEGON, Mich. — West Michigan is white with snow and the Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park is celebrating after multiple seasons of warmer-than-average temperatures.
"We're always hopeful for Christmas break, but with the warmer temperatures in this region, over the last decade, we've not seen real snow and cold sustained around here until kind of the first or second week of January," Muskegon Luge Executive Director Jim Rudicil told 13 ON YOUR SIDE.
The last few years, Muskegon Luge has suffered from shorter seasons and mid-winter warm-ups, causing short closures. The popular winter sports destination has consistently opened later than average and closed earlier .
