HOLYOKE ― Two men were arrested Nov. 26 in an abandoned building, including one wanted on an armed robbery warrant, Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan said Monday on social media.
Edwin Nazario, 43, of Holyoke, and Melquiades Cabrera, 36, of Springfield, were charged with breaking and entering, and trespassing. Cabrera also had an arrest warrant for armed and masked robbery.
Keenan said members of the Holyoke Police Narcotics Unit and the FBI’s Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force conducted a property check Nov. 26 in an alley behind 79 Newton St. after investigating citizen complaints of drug dealing.
Detectives saw an open door to an abandoned building, and found Cabrera and Nazario inside. Both were arrested, he said.
