Muhammad Azeem

A road-rage argument in Virginia on Thanksgiving went from stupid to terrifying in seconds — and police say a 1-year-old child was caught right in the middle of it.

Prince William County Police said officers were called just after 10:23 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27, to the 13000 block of Worth Avenue in Woodbridge for a road-rage report in a parking lot.

A 38-year-old man told investigators he got into a dispute with another driver when the situation took a turn he didn’t see coming.

Police said the other driver — Muhammad Azeem, 47, of Woodbridge — allegedly hit the man’s vehicle, leaving minor damage. A witness stepped in to help calm things down.

Instead, according to police, things got worse.

Investigators said Azeem circled the parking lot, lined himself up, and steered his vehicle at the victim’s car and the witness standing beside it. Inside the victim’s vehicle at the time: two family members, including a 1-year-old child.

No one was hurt, but the moment was enough to separate the parties before officers arrived. Police said Azeem left the area before officers got there.

After looking into the case, detectives secured warrants and took Azeem into custody at his home without incident. Police said he’s now facing serious charges.

Azeem is charged with four counts of attempted malicious wounding and hit-and-run.

He is being held without bond. His court date is pending.
