The Pittsburgh Steelers have claimed wide receiver Adam Thielen off waivers, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Thielen requested his release from the Minnesota Vikings after being traded back to Minnesota from the Carolina Panthers ahead of the season.

Thielen was a healthy scratch in the Vikings’ 26-0 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, which prompted the release request, as he wanted to go to a team where he could play a big role in his final NFL season.

Thielen is a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2017, 2018). He has 693 career catches, 8,380 yards, and 64 touchdowns. Considering he was claimed at the beginning of the week, perhaps he will get a helmet in Week 14 against the Baltimore Ravens.
