LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - There’s been a leadership shakeup at the organization serving as Louisville’s new independent monitor.

Effective Law Enforcement for All, or ELEFA, was chosen to help Metro Leaders implement the community commitment, the new version of the consent decree.

Michael Harrison was leading Louisville’s Independent Monitor Team, but Mayor Craig Greenberg announced Tuesday he’s leaving ELEFA for other opportunities.

Sheree Briscoe Stewart will step into the role. She’s a retired deputy commissioner of the Baltimore Police Department.

Stewart will meet with Metro Council and members of LMPD in the coming weeks.

The mayor says the change in leadership won’t slow down or alter anything the independent monitor was doing.
