FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — The first significant snowfall of the season created challenges for many across Franklin County — from scraping off cars to shoveling sidewalks and driveways. But for kids who found themselves with a snow day, the morning brought excitement and winter fun.

Ross Caleb spent his morning shoveling a friend’s sidewalk.

“I do this to help people out. I’m a handyman,” he said.

Caleb added that he doesn’t mind the work, especially after the first big snow of the year.

“It’s the season for this, so you have to live in it and go through it," he said.

Nearby, Chuck Wilson was clearing snow off the sidewalks near his church. He said the snowfall came as a bit of a surprise and noted that snow removal in his neighborhood can be inconsistent.
