Donald Trump has warned he would target any nation trafficking illegal drugs into the United States.

The former US president made the remarks during a White House cabinet meeting, where he focused on cocaine from Colombia.

He said: "The country of Colombia is making cocaine. They have cocaine manufacturing plants and then they sell us their cocaine. We appreciate that very much."

Trump added: "Anybody that's doing that and selling it into our country is subject to attack."

When asked if other countries besides Venezuela could face action, he replied: "Not just Venezuela."
