GEORGETOWN, Texas — A Williamson County judge is expected Wednesday to find a man accused of killing a child who lived in a neighboring home with a baseball bat “not guilty by reason of insanity,” KVUE News has learned.

Daniel Logan was accused of capital murder and aggravated assault in the death of 6-year-old Jeremy Tang Diaz in 2023.

Williamson County District Attorney Shawn Dick confirmed the state and defense lawyers for Logan plan to submit a joint order with the court that would resolve the criminal case against him. It would mean that rather than prison, he likely will spend years in a psychiatric state hospital.
