WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The U.S. Postal Service will highlight its Healing PTSD semipostal stamp throughout December , drawing renewed attention to a small but powerful fundraising effort that has generated millions for people affected by post-traumatic stress disorder.
Semipostal stamps are First-Class Mail stamps sold at a price above the standard rate, with the additional amount earmarked for a designated cause. Since its release in 2019, the Healing PTSD stamp has raised more than $2.2 million and has sold more than 18 million stamps, according to USPS.
The postal service said proceeds from the stamp support the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, which oversees the National Center for PTSD. The funds help provide resources for people grappling with PTSD.
