A Massachusetts State Police trooper arrested last week is facing charges related to a domestic assault on a child, local police said.
State Trooper Michael Gagnon, of Plympton, was arrested Nov. 25 and was arraigned on charges of domestic assault and battery and aggravated assault on a child under 14 years of age, according to Plympton police.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the State Police said Gagnon was relieved of duty and suspended without pay.
“The Massachusetts State Police stands firmly against all forms of domestic violence,” the spokesperson said. “We will follow the court proceedings as part of our ongoing personnel investigation and await the outcome of that process.”
