Eric Foust said he wanted to step away as a head football coach as a happy person.
Foust, who compiled a 160-100 record in 24 seasons at the helm of the Greyhounds football program, announced his resignation Monday on social media.
“I wanted to leave as a head coach happy. I didn’t want to overstay and stay a year too long.”
Foust, who finished his final season with a 7-4 record and a District 3 Class 5A berth, looked back some of the highlights of his career -- which included coaching his three sons.
“The first year we beat West Perry to make the playoffs was big and of course, winning the Little Brown Jug game for the first time,” Foust said.
Foust noted that the 29-28 victory over Bishop McDevitt in the 2016 District 3 Class 4A semifinal was a high water mark for the program.
