When people in Michigan think about healthcare, they do not think about licensure rules or compacts. They think about their parent or child waiting weeks for an appointment. They think about the stress of skipping care because paying the bill feels impossible. They think about the frustration of a crowded waiting room where their provider seems too rushed to listen.

Health conditions got worse. Mental health declined. People lost faith in a system that already feels too expensive and too slow.
At the same time, families here often wait three to four weeks for an appointment with a healthcare provider. T
