CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Harrison County schools will operate on a two-hour delay Wednesday, the West Virginia Department of Education reported Tuesday evening.
While there is no additional precipitation predicted for the overnight hours, temperatures in Clarksburg are expected to drop into the high 20s, according to AccuWeather.
The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement warning that cold overnight temperatures may lead to water on roadways freezing, creating slick spots.
The agency advises motorists driving overnight or on Wednesday morning exercise caution, especially on secondary roadways, bridges, and overpasses.
