Harrisburg Area Community College’s (HACC) faculty finally have a contract.
It’s been more than a three-and-a-half-year-long battle filled with increasing friction between the faculty union, HACCEA, and the school that reached its peak with a two-day strike in November.
On Tuesday, HACC’s Board of Trustees voted to approve the agreement, following HACCEA’s vote to approve it on Nov. 20. The four-year contract’s effective date is July 2025, and benefits to faculty will be prorated to account for the time elapsed since.
