The Norfolk County Sheriff's Office is issuing a scam warning after a Quincy woman lost $10,000 to scammers who convinced her she had an issue reporting for jury duty.

The scam came to light on Monday, when the woman came to the sheriff's office in Dedham reporting that she had "a summons for jury duty." When she was informed that police and the sheriff's office would not make such a call demanding money, she told them she had already deposited money in Bitcoin machines at two separate locations, $5,000 each time.
