MAGA TV host Eric Bolling made an eyebrow-raising claim on Tuesday about who is to blame for the shooting that killed one National Guard member and left another critically wounded.
Just before Thanksgiving, authorities said 29-year-old immigrant Rahmanullah Lakanwal, of Bellingham, Washington, shot two National Guard troops a couple of blocks from the White House. One of the troops died in the shooting, and the other has been recovering in a hospital, according to reports. Lakanwal has pleaded not guilty to murder.
Bolling floated a new theory about who is to blame for the shooting on Tuesday's episode of his eponymous show on Real America's Voice.
"There are just far too many living in our country, right here on our soil, who wish to do us harm, who want us dead," Bolling said.
"And they were hand-delivered to us by Joe Biden. Actions have irrefutable consequences, and one of the most disastrous presidencies in our nation's history will continue to have ripple effects for many, many years, even decades."
Lakanwal immigrated to the U.S. from Afghanistan in 2021 with a special visa the Biden administration created for Afghan nationals who aided the U.S. military. He was granted residency in April of this year.
The shooting sparked a renewed anti-immigrant push within the GOP and MAGA movement. Trump has said he will prohibit all travel from "third-world countries," and reports indicate DHS Secretary Kristi Noem has said her agency is looking at adding new immigration restrictions.
