ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The Atlanta Board of Education will hold a vote Wednesday that could impact more than a dozen schools.

The board will consider a plan that could impact 16 schools.

The 17-page recommendation includes plans to “repurpose” several elementary schools, including Dunbar Elementary and Continental Colony Elementary.

“It’s the center of everything,” Sherry B. Williams, a former candidate for Atlanta City Council, said of Continental Colony.

Williams is worried property values around the elementary school could plummet if the school closes.

According to the plan, improvements will be made to nearby elementary schools, but Continental Colony would effectively shutter by spring 2027.
