A proposed state office complex in downtown Santa Fe that faced controversy more than a year ago will get a second look next week by the city's Historic Districts Review Board.
Final designs for the massive facility near the state Capitol, which faced pushback in 2024 over both its size and plans to demolish several historic casitas, received a mixed review Monday evening when they were shared with about two dozen people who attended a public meeting.
Some people said they were still concerned about the building's size — 163,000 square feet, compared with 200,000 previously — and how the Territorial Revival-style facade would comply with the city building codes for historic districts.
A couple of people also questioned the state's plan for space in a public lobby memorializing buildings
