Tom McMillen, a former NBA player and 1972 Olympian, began his career at Maryland before the league drafted him ninth overall in 1974 and played over a decade in the league. After basketball, he served in the U.S House of Representatives from 1987 to 1993 and later chaired the President’s Council on Physical Fitness. He also played alongside former U.S. Senator Bill Bradley on the New York Knicks.

McMillen played for several NBA teams, including the Toronto Raptors, New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, and Washington Wizards, during his 11-year NBA career. Over his 729 games, he secured an average of 8.1 points, four rebounds, and 1.1 assists while shooting 48.3% from the field.
