BREWDOG has announced it has shaken up its flagship beer in an attempt to turn around dwindling sales.

The Ellon-based firm announced it made its Punk IPA “significantly better” with the introduction of a new krush hop variant.

BrewDog said the change in recipe will provide a cleaner, brighter, punchier, and more expressive taste, without the price increase being passed onto customers.

It comes after BrewDog beers were axed by almost 2000 pubs across the UK , along with its Punk IPA distribution dropping by more than half in the last two years.

In September, the Scottish firm recorded a £37 million loss last year, while its annual debt repayments rose to £17m and sales growth slumped to just 1%, according to an update sent to the company's shareholders.
