Lester Park’s abandoned golf-course property is again in the news .

Duluth’s two most significant issues are economic development and housing. More consideration of narrowly focused recreation plans for the Lester golf property won’t help solve those two issues. A mixed-use redevelopment of the property could be a giant step forward for both, however. The Duluth Economic Development Authority, or DEDA, has a good record in making things happen, So, let’s simply let DEDA do what it was authorized to do.

We’ve had lots of input and advice. It really is time to move on and put that great piece of property to productive use.
