MID CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Several lanes of the eastbound 10 Freeway were shut down for hours following a deadly crash in the Mid City area, and authorities were investigating whether racing was involved.
The crash was reported just before 2 a.m. Wednesday at La Brea Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. It's unclear how many cars were involved.
One person died at the scene.
The CHP said it was investigating a report that the crash stemmed from racing, but they have not confirmed that.
The incident shut down all eastbound lanes of the freeway for a time, but one lane opened about 30 minutes after. The rest of the lanes remained blocked off until around 6 a.m. when the freeway was fully reopened.
