Karonga police have arrested Brian Sanga, 31, for allegedly attempting to steal livestock and other property valued at K800,000 in Mwambuli Village.

Karonga Police spokesperson Margret Msiska confirmed that the incident occurred on 25 November 2025, while the owner, Memory Zgambo, was away at work. “When the owner returned the following morning, they discovered that items, including livestock and a video device, were missing and reported the matter to the police,” Msiska said.

Police, working with mobile network operators, were able to trace Sanga’s phone number, leading to his arrest on 2 December 2025. During investigations, Sanga admitted to selling some of the stolen items at a fraction of their original value.
