National Police Spokesperson Lael Chimtembo has confirmed the arrest of immediate-past Secretary to the Office of the President and Cabinet, Colleen Zamba.

Chimtembo said that details of the charges against her will be released at a later date. Her lawyer, Slyvester Ayuba James, has also confirmed her arrest.

Zamba has been taken to police headquarters at Area 30 in Lilongwe. Authorities are currently holding her as investigations continue.

Police have assured the public that further information will be shared once the legal process advances.

The case has drawn significant attention given Zamba’s former high-ranking position.
