AMNESTY International has called on John Swinney to ensure the Scottish Government does not do business with companies enabling Israel’s violations of international law.
In a letter to the First Minister, the organisation has called on Parliament to provide an update on what concrete action has been taken to cut ties with companies supporting Israel’s war crimes since Swinney first acknowledged the crime of genocide in Gaza .
In a new briefing, Amnesty identified significant Scottish Government commercial spend on companies listed by the UN database of companies involved in Israel’s human rights violations against Palestinians.
