LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Congressman Morgan McGarvey called out the Trump administration over cuts to housing and urban development funding.

The representative from Kentucky sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) about the decision to cut 70% of the federal funding for Continuum of Care programs.

These programs are designed to promote community commitment to ending homelessness, provide funding to organizations and local governments to rehouse those fleeing from domestic violence, promote the effective use of programs for homeless individuals and families, and to "optimize self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness," according to HUD's website.
