It’s the official welcome of the winter season with Baltimore’s 54th annual lighting of the city’s Washington Monument.
The festivities are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, with musical performances, more than 20 food vendors and the lighting of the monument at Mount Vernon Place.
Fireworks will take place at 8 p.m.
The Department of Transportation sends out a reminder that the city will close certain streets, and parking restrictions have already started in some areas.
Lance Humphries, the Conservancy’s executive director, said: “We’ll be running five bars throughout the West, North, and South Squares. A map is available on our website and via QR codes as you enter the event, so guests can quickly find their favorite food vendor, or try something new.”
