A man once busted in a Lexington Park burglary case is now wanted again — this time for escape — after deputies say his GPS ankle monitor was deactivated and he vanished in Maryland.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Carlonte Antoine Knott, 33, of Baltimore, who is wanted “for escape,” according to authorities.
Knott is described by deputies as a Black man who is 6-feet-3 and approximately 250 pounds.
The sheriff's office said deputies were notified on Monday, Dec. 1, that the ankle-monitoring GPS device assigned to Knott had been deactivated, and that subsequent attempts to contact the suspect were unsuccessful.
At the time, Knott was on court-ordered home detention in connection with charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree escape, and a theft scheme valued at $100 to less than $1,500, according to the agency.
This is not the first time his name has appeared in St. Mary’s County arrest records.
Back in an earlier case, deputies said then–25-year-old Knott entered a home in the 46000 block of Lynch Lane in Lexington Park “without permission.”
A probable cause search turned up suspected Adderall, and investigators said he did not have a prescription for the pills.
He was charged at the time with fourth-degree burglary, CDS possession – not marijuana, and theft under $1,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Now, investigators are asking the public to help track him down.
Anyone with information about Knott’s whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Joseph Bowling at the sheriff's office.
