LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- Bikini Bottom fans champing at the bit for the new feature film “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants” can wet their slide whistles early with the upcoming Beck Center’s holiday show.

Reliving the magic of the popular Nickelodeon cartoon is “ The SpongeBob Musical,” which runs Friday (Dec. 5) through Jan. 4 in the Senney Theater.

Portraying the square-sized titular character is Seth Crawford, who admittedly has been preparing for the role since he was a child.

“I always loved SpongeBob,” said Toledo native Crawford, who is currently a junior music theater major at Oberlin College. “All my friends loved the show and love the characters. It was a really pivotal point in my childhood.
