Michael Jordan’s antitrust fight with NASCAR has reached a point that many never expected. His team, 23XI Racing, has pushed the series into a trial that could change the way American motorsports operates and how teams survive inside the system.
The case entered federal court on Monday in the Western District of North Carolina. Jordan’s team and Front Row Motorsports accused NASCAR of running a monopoly. They said NASCAR controls tracks, rules, and money, and the charter deal offered in late 2024 was not fair.
Denny Hamlin, co-owner of 23XI Racing, posted a strong message before the trial began. “Our fans have been brainwashed with NASCAR’s talking points for decades. Lies are over starting Monday morning. It’s time for the truth. It’s time for change,” Hamlin wrote on social media.
