As longtime 7News anchor Kim Khazei signs off , Jadiann Thompson will take over for her, the station announced Tuesday.
Khazei has worked at WHDH for over 20 years and is leaving the newsroom to move closer to family, including her first grandchild.
Thompson, who joined the station 10 years ago, will co-anchor the weekday newscasts at 5, 6, 10, and 11 p.m. with Adam Williams beginning on Jan. 1 .
Currently, Thompson anchors the weekday newscasts at 4, 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, and 9 p.m., and she helped launch the 9 p.m. newscast in 2017, which “quickly became one of the highest rated newscasts” in the city, according to the announcement.
