'Top fella' died hours after being restrained by police, inquest hears

A man died in hospital hours after being arrested, a record of inquest said. An inquest into the death of Daniel Bell, known as Danny, at Bootle Town Hall last week determined his death was drug related after he entered a property on Bedford Road in Bootle on April 10, 2023.

The 33-year-old entered the property shortly after 8.30am where he displayed "erratic aggressive behaviours", according to a record of inquest published by Anita Bhardwaj. He was then placed in restraints by Merseyside Police officers.

Mr Bell later suffered a seizure and a cardiac arrest, with restraints removed by officers at the scene. Paramedics treated Mr Bell and he was taken to Aintree University Hospital where he w
