LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The Logan County Board of Education voted to close Verdunville Elementary and to consolidate Verdunville students into Omar Elementary, according to WVBOE Communications Director Christy Day.
Day said since Verdunville Elementary is a “takeover school,” the State School Superintendent had to approve ahead of time for the Logan County BOE to take the vote.
The Logan County BOE’s decision means the next official step is to present it to the State Superintendent, who will then present it to the State School BOE.
All closures and consolidations in West Virginia will be presented to the State BOE to vote on at a meeting on December 10.
