NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The North Charleston Police Department has arrested a youth in connection with a shooting that left one man injured last Wednesday afternoon.

The youth, whose name has not been released because of their age, faces charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and unlawful possession of a pistol by a person under 18, according to jail records.

Officers responded to a reported shooting at 5900 Rivers Avenue shortly after 2 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a man with a gunshot wound when they arrived. The victim was sent to a hospital for treatment.

He is being held in the juvenile unit of the Charleston County Jail.
