MADISON CO., Miss. (WLBT) - A woman has been sentenced to serve 20 years in prison for setting her boyfriend on fire.
Kalena Stubbs, 51, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault against her former boyfriend.
On January 16, deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call for assistance about a man who had been burned and needed medical assistance.
Authorities discovered the victim was severely burned all over his torso, upper arms, and face. He was taken by AirCare to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for the injuries sustained.
Investigators immediately noticed that his clothes were not burned and questioned Stubbs about it, admitting that she had changed his clothes before calling 911.
