FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Some elements originally planned for the current phase of Riverfront development in downtown Fort Wayne will no longer be constructed because of a recent permit update, city leaders shared on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department says design plans for Riverfront Phase IIB, in development now along the north bank of the St. Marys River, have changed because of redefined permit conditions.
Communications Manager April McCampbell says the permit changes were brought about by various state and federal agencies, and to comply with the update, some project elements planned within the river floodway must be adjusted.
