MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Police arrested a man Sunday night, who is accused of driving drunk and hitting a man on Madison’s south side.

Madison Police Department explained a 68-year-old man was trying to get into his vehicle on Beld Street when he was hit by a car.

MPD officers responded around 9:05 p.m. to the 1800 block of Beld Street for the crash.

Officials took the victim to a hospital, and said he is expected to be OK.

Officers said the driver, Timothy Childress, is accused of fifth offense OWI- causing injury and inattentive driving.

Police booked the 63-year-old at the Dane County Jail.
