Mark Wahlberg has places to be. He’s not trying to spend half a day on the golf course. It’s two and a half hours of lean, no-nonsense play, then it’s off to the gym, a shoot, a media obligation or, in this case, a charity tournament.
That’s where we found him last month, at the all-inclusive Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas. This year marked the third edition of his celebrity charity event supporting the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, and the first time it’s been held at the Nassau property, home to the Royal Blue Golf Club.
Before the event kicked off with an 18-hole celebrity outing, we caught up with Wahlberg on the range to ask how golf fits into his routine, what draws him to the Bahamas, and what playing athletes on screen has taught him about sports.
