OMAHA, Neb. —

A shooting outside of a grocery store in north Omaha critically injured one person.

Officers responded to the shooting, which occurred outside the Phil's Cash Saver near N 31st Avenue and Ames Avenue, around 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.

One person was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, according to authorities.

Omaha police told KETV that the victim was loading groceries in their vehicle when the suspect allegedly came up and shot them.

The grocery store is currently closed, an employee told KETV. It was not clear whether the grocery store would reopen Wednesday.
